The PSE Foundation is proud to match charitable contributions and volunteer hours donated by current employees and retirees of Puget Sound Energy to eligible 501C3 nonprofit organizations.
Current matching rates:
- Donations are currently matched up to $500 per year at $.50 for every $1 donated and requires a minimum match total of $25 ($50 personal donation).
- Volunteer hours are currently matched up to $500 per year at $12.50 per hour served and requires a minimum match of $25 (2 hours volunteered).

How to request a match:
- Go to the PSE Foundation Employee Matching page: Employee Match
- Scroll down to the “Apply Now” button to begin your application for a volunteer or donation match
- From the drop-down, select either volunteer or donation match
- If you have not registered for a Giving Hub account, follow steps 5-8. If you already have an account, you may skip to step 9.
GIVING HUB REGISTRATION: A new system has been implemented for your matching program. If you have not yet registered for a Giving Hub account, you will be prompted to do so at this time.
- Select “I will be submitting applications to receive funds for: Myself”
- Fill out your name, email and provide a cell-phone for a digital security verification
- Create your password and continue – you will be asked to verify your identity twice
- Verify the code sent to the email used for registration
- Verify the code sent to your cellphone listed for registration
- Select yes on the privacy statement for Foundation Source and Giving Hub
Continue to matching application:
- Fill out your information
- Fill out the nonprofit organization’s information
- Fill out your gift information
- Donation: Amount you donated, date of gift and match requested
- Volunteer: Number of hours you volunteered, date of service and match requested
- Upload confirmations:
- Donation: Submit receipts or confirmation of your contribution
- Volunteer: Submit written confirmation from the nonprofit of your participation. This can be an email, letter, volunteer log or other verification.
- Digitally certify your request and hit submit

Eligibility:
Nonprofits must have an active 501(C)3 IRS charitable designation and serve the people of PSE’s service and facility areas (Columbia, Cowlitz, Garfield, Island, King, Kitsap, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lewis, Pierce, Snohomish, Skagit, Thurston, and Whatcom counties) without discrimination.
At this time, PSE Foundation does not fund grants to individual K-12 schools, PTA’s, youth groups, teams or clubs (example: youth soccer club organizations may qualify but match cannot be directed to an individual team or a school district foundation may qualify versus a specific grade school PTA); religious or political organizations unless charitable serving the public (such as a food bank); grants that benefit an individual or specific family; Grants for fundraisers or event sponsorship. Matches for in-kind donations or auctions. Final approval is at the discretion of the PSE Foundation.
Submissions for matches must be submitted by a current employee of Puget Sound Energy or a retiree from the company. If an employee leaves the company prior to a match being distributed, the Foundation will honor the payment.
