About

The PSE Foundation strengthens our local communities by reducing household burdens, expanding opportunity, and building resilience in meaningful ways.

As an independent, endowment-funded nonprofit — not supported by utility customers or ratepayer dollars — we are uniquely positioned to provide flexible funding that fills critical gaps, supporting needs that may otherwise go unaddressed.

While doing our work, we never lose sight of the people we exist for:

  • Families and individuals experiencing high household burdens
  • Students facing barriers to pursuing education or career pathways
  • People in communities impacted by climate and disaster risk
  • Local nonprofit organizations doing critical work

We partner with local nonprofits to fund practical, community-driven solutions that meet urgent needs today while building long-term stability for tomorrow. Through investments in family stability, education and workforce pathways, and climate resiliency, the PSE Foundation is helping people and communities move forward and thrive.

Values in Action

  • We focus where the need is greatest and impact is strongest by listening to local partners, removing barriers to opportunity, and investing where we can have the greatest impact.
  • We fill the gaps others can’t by providing flexible funding for urgent needs, mission-based giving and nonprofit capacity building in both urban and rural communities.
  • We invest in both immediate stability and long-term resilience by supporting food security, housing stability, education pathways, disaster preparedness, and nonprofit sustainability.
  • We strengthen the organizations behind the impact by supporting mission-based giving, from training and operations to safety and infrastructure.
  • We operate independently for community good by prioritizing sustained and community-centered investment, partnering with nonprofits, employees, and community leaders to multiply impact.
